Greetings! You are receiving this newsletter because you are subscribed to our 'site-members' newsletter for one of our websites.

I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful summer. We have been keeping busy too.

Our network of dance websites continues to grow, and we would like to announce some of our recent news, changes and enhancements.

As we approach August, many schools are starting to list their upcoming fall dance schedules. Now is the time to start planning your own fall schedule before classes are closed. And our sites are continuing to grow, with new organizations and events being added regularly to our network of sites, including a growing number of listings from Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa and other places.

We have added member's pictures, private messages, and member blogs to the site. You can now add your picture (or organization logo) to your account info, if you wish. You can get messages from other members of the site without revealing your email address. And you can now also have your own blog - a log of your own dance adventures. The blogs are publicly visible, and other members of the site can add comments to your blog. More info is available on the site. If you are looking for a dance partner, want to arrange a dance-outing, or want to talk about some great dance shoes you just bought, your blog is a great way of sharing this information with other members of the site.

Because our network of sites now lists items across a wide region, each site has been individually localized. Any items added to any sites on our network are listed on all the sites, but local items are now listed first. If you visit Dance-Montreal.com, for example, items and events near Montreal are presented first. As more listings are added from Canada and the USA, we will be opening new localized websites for members in those areas as well.

For organizations adding listings, we have made a few extra changes. Entering the dates of events has been dramatically simplified. You can now also add an image or your logo to any of your listings, and these images appear on your item's own page, as well as in cross-referenced listings and on the calendar.

With so many dance listings, and so many dance styles, we have improved the search functions so that finding items is simpler. Using 'advanced search' you can easily narrow down an item you are looking for. Our calendar also allows you to limit the listings to a single dance style. "What belly dance events are happening near me this month?", for example.

And we now have two new site sponsors:

- Salsaria is a dance club that runs latin dance events most Saturdays at the Plant Recreation Centre in Ottawa. Salsa, Bachata, Merengue and more. ''for dancers, by dancers''

- PMP (People Meeting People) is a dance club that runs 50+ dances many Saturdays at the Carleton Heights Community Centre. The last dance of each month is often a theme dance (Rock & Roll, or Country & Western, for example).

Our sponsors are helping to support this website for the whole dance community. Check their listings, and consider dropping in to one of their events.

Thank you to all our site members, and to all the dance organizations that are now listing on our network of dance sites. We will continue to enhance the sites in the coming months, and another newsletter should follow in the fall.

Keep Dancing, and If you would like more info about the new features of the site, please read our FAQs or Tricks & Tips.

See you on the dance floor!
